  Jane is the daughter of Emma Pulford that is what the baptism record indicates. By the time Jane is babtised Emma has married George Bird. Charles, also illigitamate son of Emma, was adopted into the marriage and was called Charles Bird in the 1881 and 1891 census returns. Although he takes the name Pulford in the 1901 Census.
